Dressmaker Character Database

Dressmaker Characters

Meet the people who commission your dresses. Every character has a commission line of their own, gift preferences, a relationship ladder and the Pattern unlocks that ladder hands over — all read from the game data, none of it invented.

  • 10 characters
  • 88 commissions
  • 117 relationship unlocks
  • Game data build 25482629. Characters, commission counts and pattern unlocks are read from the build, not typed in by hand.

This search box also reads pattern names, so an unlock can lead you back to the character who grants it.

Meet the characters

Every character this build publishes, with the size of their order, how far the relationship runs and what it hands over. Open one to follow their line.

Showing 10 of 10 characters

Characters and their commissions

Each character arrives with a line of briefs, and the line is where their story is written. The relation below comes straight out of the game data, so every commission listed here is one you can open and solve.

Reading the other way? The commissions board regroups these same briefs by style, fabric, colour and accessory requirement.

Relationship 1–5

Relationships unlock new patterns

Delivering a character’s commissions raises your relationship with them, and crossing a level hands over named patterns. The rungs below count how many characters actually grant a pattern at each level.

  1. Level 110 characters unlock patterns here
  2. Level 210 characters unlock patterns here
  3. Level 310 characters unlock patterns here
  4. Level 410 characters unlock patterns here
  5. Level 52 characters unlock patterns here

Levels run from 1 to 5 across this build. A commission judged excellent can move a relationship further than a passing one, which is why this page documents the ladder rather than printing a level for you.

How progression works

Looking for a pattern?

Type a pattern you want and go straight to the character who grants it, instead of working backwards through all of their commissions.

10 of 10 characters carry a gift profile

Gift dresses and character preferences

Once gifting is available, a character profile carries their measurements and the dress their gift quest is measured against. What follows are those requirement lists, read from the build rather than inferred from anyone.

A gift profile is the gift quest’s own requirement list, so the same row appears on that quest’s page and in the gifting guide.

About the Character Database

Dressmaker is built around its characters. Each one arrives with a line of commissions, and the line is the spine of their story: the briefs come in the game’s own order, and delivering them is what moves the relationship forward.

That makes the roster a better starting point than any single commission. A character card carries the size of the order, how far the relationship runs and how many patterns the ladder hands over, so you can pick a line by what it is worth rather than by a name you half remember.

The relationship is not a counter. A commission judged excellent can move it further than one that merely passes, so this page documents the game’s levels instead of printing a number for a save file it has never seen.

Many of Dressmaker’s named characters are recurring clients who come back with new commissions as the story progresses. This catalog uses Characters as its main term while the commission pages focus on the jobs they bring: clients, customers and characters are the same people here, not three different lists.

One character record in this build carries no commission line and no page of its own, so it is not published: the roster holds the 10 named clients the site can actually show.

Character questions

Characters, commissions and unlocks

  • How many characters are in Dressmaker?

This build ships 10 characters with commission lines of their own, 88 commissions in total, and 117 patterns that relationships unlock. The names, the commission lines and the unlocks all come from game data build 25482629.

  • Do characters unlock patterns?

Yes. Every character has a relationship ladder, and crossing a level hands over named patterns spanning bodice, skirt, sleeve and collar. A character’s own page lists what each level gives.

  • How do relationships increase?

By delivering that character’s commissions. How far a delivery moves the relationship is settled by the game, which is why this page shows the ladder and the work you have marked done rather than computing a level for you.

  • Does an Excellent commission result matter?

It can. A commission that is judged excellent can raise a relationship further than one that merely succeeds, which is why two players with the same number of finished briefs can sit at different levels.

  • Where can I see all of a character's commissions?

Each character’s commissions stay in the game’s own order. The roster groups them by character, and the commissions board can filter the same briefs by character when you want to read a whole line at once.
