Is Dressmaker Coming to Mobile?

A mobile port is planned, but iOS has not been named and no App Store release has been announced.

“Mobile” covers more than one platform, and the announcement did not narrow it. So the iPhone answer and the iPad answer are the same one: reasonable, unconfirmed. Writing “Dressmaker is coming to iPhone” would take a sentence about mobile platforms in general and turn it into a promise about a specific device.

Searching for “dressmaker apk” already returns sites offering one. None of them can be official, because there is no mobile build to distribute: a file claiming to be Dressmaker for Android today is either something else, or it is not Dressmaker.

A port normally means the same game on different hardware, and that is the ordinary reading of the word. It is still not a promise about content, saves, interface or price: those get decided per platform, and none of them has been decided out loud.

The Steam figure is the listing's own regular price and nothing more. Mobile pricing is set separately, can vary by store and region, and is normally published alongside the listing. Read the two rows above as one fact and one blank.

Nobody has said. The Steam release's answer does not carry over.

The Steam version was positioned directly against this worry: in the price announcement the developers asked whether there would be microtransactions, ads or data harvesting, and answered “we don't do that”. That is a strong statement about the game they shipped, and it is silent about a port they have not built.

Cutting and pattern placement are obvious candidates for a rethink on a screen, and users may reasonably expect that. An expectation is not an announcement, and no mobile control design has been shown.

The developers have said they want proper controller support for Steam Deck, which shows the problem is on their list. That statement is about a handheld PC rather than a phone, and it is not a touch design.

The announcement said mobile. It did not say which devices that covers, and there is no published minimum specification, screen requirement or battery target. These four are the classes the word could mean, and each one is unanswered.

Cross-save has not been announced.

Steam Cloud does exist for the game, and it is the most tempting thing on this page to over-read: it syncs saves between Steam machines. Moving a save between a PC and a phone is a different promise, and only the first one has been made.
