Dressmaker Mods & Mod Support
Dressmaker does not currently have official mod support, but an early community modding scene has already appeared around a BepInEx-based ModLoader. Here is what that means before you install anything.

This page moves faster than any other page on this site. The game launched on September 21, the community tooling appeared days later, and it is still changing — so every version and date below is stored with the day it was read rather than written into a sentence.
Two different answers
Does Dressmaker officially support mods?
No — and the distinction that matters is between what the developer supports and what the community has already built without them.
Official
- Official mod supportNot currently planned
- Steam WorkshopNo confirmed official support
- Official modding SDKNone announced
“We currently don't have mod support planned.”
That is a statement about current plans rather than a permanent one. Nothing has been announced since, in either direction.
Community
- Community moddingExists
- Mod loaderAvailable
- Custom content packsEmerging
So the short answer is that mods exist and are not official. The tools are third-party, they hook into the game rather than using a supported API, and they will break when the game changes in ways their authors have not accounted for.
The current tool
What is the Dressmaker ModLoader?
Community mods do not need a framework from the developer because they bring their own. One project is the centre of the scene today.
Yuuma's Dressmaker ModLoader

- 0.6.36.2

Version read on September 28, 2026
Advertises support for
- Fabrics
- Accessories
- Garments
- Language packs
- In-game pack management
- Save backups and restore
That link goes to the game's mod index rather than to a direct download, on purpose. The project can be renamed, superseded or pulled at any time, and a page that sent you to a stale file would be worse than one that sends you to the list it lives in. Read the author's own page before installing.
What you can change
What can Dressmaker mods add?
The loader documents four kinds of content pack. Each one adds to the game rather than overwriting it, which is why a pack can be removed without uninstalling anything.
Fabrics
Add your own fabric content alongside the fabrics the game ships, rather than replacing them.
Accessories
Community packs can add accessory content, including the decoration and trim pieces you place on a dress.
Garments
The loader's documentation lists garment content, so whole garments can be added as packs rather than as textures.
Language packs
A translation can be loaded as a content pack, which is how the first complete community localisation appeared. This is the one category already proven in practice rather than only advertised.
Can I add custom patterns?
The loader documents garments, fabrics, accessories and language packs. Patterns are not listed separately, and a garment pack is not the same thing as a new cuttable pattern — so check the current release notes rather than assuming the two are interchangeable.
Installing
How to install Dressmaker mods
A short version of the loader's own instructions, in the order that keeps your save recoverable.
Back up your saves before installing community mods.
- 01
Back up your save
Do this first, before anything else on this list. A mod that touches progression or game state can make a save hard to walk back.
- 02
Get the loader from its own page
Use the project's page on a mod host rather than a mirror or a repackaged build. Check the file's current scan status and the recent comments while you are there.
- 03
Extract it into the game folder
The loader is unpacked into the directory that contains the game's executable, which is the folder Steam installs Dressmaker into.
- 04
Launch Dressmaker
The loader installs itself on the first run, so the game has to start once before any packs can be added.
- 05
Open the mod menu
The loader adds its own entry to the game's options menu, which is where packs are added and removed.
- 06
Add your content pack
Packs are added from that menu as an archive or a folder. Add one at a time so that a pack that breaks something can be identified.
- 07
Restart the game
Changes to the pack list take effect on the next launch rather than immediately.
These steps describe a community tool. None of it is an official Dressmaker feature, and none of it is something this site can support if it goes wrong.
Platforms
Can you use mods on Windows and Mac?
The picture changed within days of launch, which is itself the useful information: do not take an older guide's answer as current.
Windows
Windows is the platform the loader was built for and the one its instructions describe. If you are following a guide, this is the platform it was written against.
macOS
A macOS build has appeared in the project's files, so modding on Mac is no longer out of the question — but it is newer and less proven than the Windows build, and at the time of writing some files are held behind Nexus' automated checks. Confirm the current file status before installing.
One unfamiliar word
Is BepInEx required?
BepInEx is a community framework used to load plugins into games built with Unity, and Dressmaker is one. The loader bundles it rather than asking you to install it separately, so there is no second download and no second set of instructions.
If you have modded another Unity game before, this will look familiar. If you have not, the only thing worth knowing is that it is the mechanism, not an extra step you have to research.
Before you install
Are Dressmaker mods safe?
No one can answer that for you, and a page that answered it confidently would be lying. What this page can do is tell you exactly what is true today.
Some current files are quarantined by the host's automated checks, which can add an extra step before a download is available.
Community mods are third-party software and are not supported by Dressmaker's developer. Nexus currently flags some of the loader's files through its automated checks, and some macOS builds have been quarantined. That does not by itself establish that a file is malicious — executable files, packed archives and scanner heuristics all produce the same warning — but it is a reason to read the current file status and the author's notes rather than to install on the strength of a recommendation.
What to do instead of trusting a page
- Download from the original project page, not a mirror or a repack.
- Check the current scan status and the recent comments on that page.
- Keep a save backup that predates the mod.
- Add one mod at a time so you know which one changed things.
- Remove outdated mods after a game update rather than leaving them loaded.
Scene
Dressmaker modding is still very new
This page deliberately does not carry a list of the best Dressmaker mods. The game launched on September 21, and the community ecosystem is days old rather than months — a ranked list would be out of date before it was published.
- Mod loader
Yuuma's Dressmaker ModLoader
The mod loader itself. This is infrastructure rather than content: it is what makes any other pack possible.
- Translation
Complete Arabic localization
A complete community localisation, which is the clearest example of a content pack doing something the base game does not offer in that language.
Expect tools, compatibility and available packs to change quickly. If you are reading this months after it was checked, verify everything before acting on it.
Read this before using cheats
Mods can change progression
The loader ships features that bypass normal game progression. That is a reason to keep two things separate in your head.
- Unlock everythingMod feature
- Sandbox modeMod feature
- Pattern recoveryMod feature
A mod that unlocks content does not mean that content is normally obtainable. Unlocking everything through a community tool says nothing about where an item comes from in an unmodified game — and this site's database lists only what a fresh save can actually reach.
A common question
Does Dressmaker have Steam Workshop?
There is no confirmed official Steam Workshop integration for Dressmaker at present.
Official mod support is not currently planned, and Workshop integration would be part of that rather than separate from it. Community mods currently rely on third-party tools and are distributed through mod hosts instead. That is a statement about today: the developer could change their position, and if they do, this page changes with it.
After a patch
Will a game update break my mods?
Not necessarily, and not predictably. Because community mods hook into the game rather than going through a supported interface, an update can make one stop working until its author catches up.
The honest answer is that it depends on what the patch changed. A content pack that only adds fabrics is far less exposed than a tool that changes progression or the interface.
- 01Back up your save before updating the game
- 02Check whether the loader has a release for the new build
- 03Check each installed pack for a matching update
- 04If something breaks, launch without mods first to confirm the game itself is fine
Questions
Dressmaker mods — common questions
Does Dressmaker officially support mods?
No. The developer said on September 10, 2026 that mod support is not currently planned, and nothing has been announced since — in either direction.
Are there Dressmaker mods?
Yes. A community mod loader and early content packs have appeared since launch, so mods exist even though the developer does not support them.
Where can I get Dressmaker mods?
Community mods are listed on mod hosts rather than distributed by the developer. Use the original project pages rather than mirrors or repackaged builds, and check the current scan status before downloading.
Does Dressmaker have Steam Workshop?
There is no confirmed official Steam Workshop integration. Official mod support is not currently planned, and Workshop integration would depend on it.
Can I add custom fabrics?
Yes. The community loader documents fabric packs, which add fabric content alongside the game's own rather than replacing it.
Can I add accessories?
The loader advertises accessory content, including decoration and trim pieces.
Can I add custom garments?
Garments are one of the content kinds the loader lists. Note that garments and patterns are not the same thing, and patterns are not listed separately.
Can I use mods on Mac?
A macOS build of the loader has appeared, so it is possible in principle — but it is newer than the Windows build and some files have been held behind automated checks. Verify the current file status before installing.
Will mods affect my save?
They can. Some loader features change progression or game state directly, so keep a save backup that predates the mod and treat anything a mod unlocks as something the unmodified game may not offer at all.
Does using mods break the game's rules or achievements?
Mods are not officially supported, so nothing about them is guaranteed — including their effect on achievements or on a save you later open without mods. This page does not claim otherwise.
How current this is
Sources and freshness
Every date and version on this page was read by hand from the developer's public statement and from the loader's own project page. The mod scene changes quickly enough that this page is only as useful as its check date.
