Reviewed through Build 41025482629

Dressmaker has shipped two public patches since launch. The notes for both are summarised here in plain language rather than copied, and where a note is silent about something readers ask about — formulas, requirements, saves — this page says the notes are silent instead of concluding the game is unchanged.

Three versions

Which build is which?

There are three numbers in circulation right now and only the first one is the game you download. The other two matter, so they get names rather than being left to a store page to explain.

    Getting started

What the notes do not say

Build 410's notes describe interface and interaction work only. They do not mention any formula, requirement, balance value or data table, so there is nothing in them that would change a number this site computes or quotes. That sentence is about the notes rather than about the build, and the mechanics section below takes it apart system by system.

Changes to pages

What each change moved on this site

A patch note is a list of what changed in the game. This is the same list read the other way round: for each change, the page here that describes it, and what happened to that page as a result.

  • Thread colour can now be changed in the sewing scene, by clicking the spools.

    How to change thread colour
  • Sketchbook components are clearer that their names can be clicked.

  • Hovering a panel in the inventory now shows a hint for where it goes on the mannequin.

    Assembly guide
  • Fixed a softlock in the tutorial when clicking the sketchbook before ringing the bell.

    Getting started

Where a change has no page yet, the entry stays as text rather than becoming a link to something that has not shipped. The sketchbook guide is still being written, which is why one row above carries no destination.

Regression

Build 410 site review

What we checked after Build 410, and what we found.

Build 410 changed interactions, not calculations. No published note in it touches a formula, a requirement or a data table this site is built from, so no calculator needed revalidating.

  • Gameplay formulasNo published change found
  • Sewing guideUpdated
  • Cutting guideReviewed
  • Sketchbook guideReviewed
  • Getting-started guideReviewed
  • Calculators and solversNo published change found

This list is a statement about what the notes describe, which is the only thing checkable from outside the game. A build id that differs from our snapshot is a difference, not a defect — the notes remain the evidence.

Bug fixes7 changes

The first patch after launch: launch-day bugs across cutting, the store tutorial, commissions and the shop interface.

  • FixedSome lace trim accessories were not tagged as lace trim. Fixed.

    Snapshot
  • FixedFailed commissions were not paying out. Fixed — if a character accepts a commission you are paid.

  • FixedFixed the mouse cursor sometimes going invisible in the cutting room tutorial and not coming back.

  • FixedThe back button is now enabled during the store tutorial.

  • ChangedThe bell must now be rung to summon the next customer.

  • FixedFixed the single keyhole bodice.

  • FixedFixed shop buttons not responding at extremely wide aspect ratios.

This is the one patch so far that names a classification rather than a behaviour. “Fix some lace trim items not being tagged as such” touches accessory tagging, which is a column our data is built on — see the database section below.

Steam branches

Why does SteamDB show a newer build?

Because SteamDB lists builds on branches other than the public one.

The newer build sits on Steam's publicbeta branch, which the developer-facing tools describe as experimental and untested changes. The live public branch is the older number, and that is the one a player installs. Build ids increase over time, so a higher number from a branch can easily look like a newer release to anyone reading a list of numbers without the channel next to them.

Public beta status

  • Build id confirmed25533493
  • ChannelPublic beta
  • Is this the public release? No
  • Build labelNone assigned
  • Official patch notesNot published

There are no patch notes for the beta

The beta build has no published changelog, no build label and no release date. This page therefore reports only that it exists and where, and describes none of its contents — anything more would be reading a branch name as a feature list.

Should I switch to it?

This page does not recommend betas either way. What it can say is that the branch is described as untested, that no notes accompany it, and that our data is compared against the public branch and not against this one — so a mechanic that behaves differently on the beta would not be reflected anywhere here.

Mechanics

Did the latest patch change any formulas?

No published note through Build 410 describes a change to a formula or a data table.

This is the question a calculator page lives or dies by, so it is answered per system rather than in one sentence. Six systems have no published change at all. Three have something the notes actually name, and each says which build named it.

Did the latest patch change any formulas?
SystemThrough Build 410Responsible build
Quality formulaNo confirmed change
Style Score formulaNo confirmed change
Fabric usage formulaNo confirmed change
Sale price formulaNo confirmed change
Relationship unlocksNo confirmed change
Commission requirementsNo confirmed change
Commission paymentFixed in Build 403Build 403
Accessory taggingFixed in Build 403Build 403
Thread colourChanged in Build 410Build 410

“No confirmed change” means the patch notes never mention it — not that the code is proven identical. Formula changes are usually not announced at all, which is why this page leans on the fact that these notes did not mention them, and says so plainly rather than claiming a clean bill of health.

Commission payment and commission requirements are deliberately separate rows. Build 403 fixed payout for accepted commissions; it said nothing about what a commission asks you to make, and reading one as the other would be the easy mistake here.

Our data

What game version is this site built from?

Our extracted game data comes from Steam build 25482629. The current public build is 25508059, which is Build 410.

The snapshot is taken by extracting the game's own data files, so it can only change when someone re-extracts them. Between extractions the game keeps shipping, and that gap is normal rather than broken — what matters is which side of it each page's numbers come from.

No known core-formula regressionTwo public patches have shipped since the snapshot was taken

Both patches were reviewed against the systems this site uses. Neither published note touches a formula, a requirement or a table in the export, so nothing here has needed revalidating on the strength of them.

One exception worth naming

Build 403 included “fix some lace trim items not being tagged as such”. That is the only published change so far that touches a classification rather than a behaviour, and accessory tagging is a column our data depends on. It is flagged for a diff the next time the snapshot is refreshed — a diff to check, not a defect to fix, and the note names no item.

Tools

Does the latest patch affect our tools?

The same reassurances, arranged by the thing a reader may have been using.

  • Commission Solver

No published change to what a commission requires. The Build 403 payout fix is about money arriving, not about the requirements read from the game data.

  • Style Calculator

No Style Score change has been announced through Build 410.

Announced work

What is coming next?

Everything below was named in the developers' post-launch announcement. None of it has a date.

Six items are announced and undated. The first two were described as small updates arriving in the weeks after launch; the rest are described as further off.

Questions

Dressmaker updates — common questions

What is the latest Dressmaker update?

Build 410, released on 24 September 2026. It is a small patch focused on UX improvements, plus one new interaction in the sewing scene.

What is the current Dressmaker Steam build?

The live public branch is Steam build 25508059, which is Build 410.

Why does SteamDB show build 25533493?

That build is on the publicbeta branch, which is labelled experimental and untested. It is newer than the public build but it is not the public release, and no patch notes describe it.

Did Build 410 change Style Scores?

No Style Score change is mentioned in the Build 410 notes. The notes describe interface and interaction work only.

Did Build 410 change the Quality formula?

No Quality formula change is mentioned in the Build 410 notes.

What did Build 410 add?

The sewing scene now lets you change thread colour by clicking the spools. The rest of the patch is UX work: clearer clickable names in the sketchbook, mouse-wheel behaviour in the cutting room, panel placement hints, and a tutorial softlock fix.

What did Build 403 fix?

Launch-window bugs: an invisible cursor in the cutting room tutorial, a disabled back button in the store tutorial, lace trim items that were not tagged as lace trim, failed commissions not paying out, the single keyhole bodice, and unresponsive shop buttons at extreme aspect ratios.

Is this site's database on the exact latest build?

No. The extracted data comes from build 25482629, while the current public build is 25508059. Two public patches have shipped in between, and both were reviewed against the systems this site uses; neither mentions a formula or data table in the export.

Is the public beta newer than the public release?

Its build id is higher, yes — but a higher build id on another branch is not a later release. The live public branch is what players install, and that is Build 410.

Will a patch break the calculators?

Only if a patch changes a formula or a data table, and neither of the two published patches does. When one does, the affected tools get marked here for revalidation rather than quietly returning stale numbers.

Do updates change commissions?

Build 403 fixed commission payouts for accepted commissions. Nothing published says commission requirements themselves changed.

Where are the official patch notes?

On the game's Steam news hub. This page summarises them rather than reproducing them, and links out from each patch entry.
