Can't Finish Sewing Your Dress?
If you've sewn everything you can see but the dress still isn't finished, check the other side of the mannequin. Some seams may be hidden from your current view. Rotate around the dress, find the remaining seam, and continue sewing.

Quick answer
Check the other side of the dress
Sewing is finished when every join has been sewn, and the game only announces completion once they all are. If yours has not been announced, a join you cannot currently see is the likeliest reason.
- Stop working the seam you are on if it will not take another stitch.
- Look at the dress from another side — the mannequin can be rotated.
- Find a join that has not been sewn yet, and finish it.
- Continue until the game announces that sewing is complete.
This is the order that resolves most of these cases, and it is the order the rest of this page expands. None of it is a repair: a seam you cannot see from here is normal, not a fault.

The symptom
Why can I only sew half of the dress?
Because you can only reach half of it at a time. Sewing works on the side of the garment facing the camera, and a dress has more than one side.
What you can see
The seams on the side facing you, closed one after another.
What may still be there
Seams on the side facing away, which the game has not offered you yet.
This is the symptom players describe as sewing half a dress together. It is not a limit on how much sewing the game will allow — it is a limit on what is in view, and it ends when you look from somewhere else.
This is about making progress, not about accuracy. Whether each stitch was placed well is a separate question, and it belongs to the sewing guide.
The fix
Find the missing seam
Sewing offers one join at a time: a piece against its neighbour, rotate it, sew it. So a dress that will not finish is a short scan rather than a repair.
Stop working the same edge
If the join in front of you will not take another stitch, repeating it does not move the dress on. The game is waiting for a different join.
Look around the dress
The mannequin can be rotated, so the side facing you is only one side. Turn the dress and inspect the part that was facing away.
Look for an unfinished join
An unsewn join shows up as a seam that has not been closed. Scan the newly visible side for one.
Sew it and continue
Finish the join you found the way you finished the others: line the piece up and sew. Repeat until the game says the sewing is complete.

What makes this order worth trusting is the game's own completion message for this stage. It has not appeared, so the dress has a join still open rather than having finished quietly.

You cannot start sewing at all
The stage opens from the mannequin, once the pieces have been placed and grouped — and that happens in assembly rather than in sewing. If there is nothing to sew, the missing step is upstream.

If it still will not finish
When every seam looks finished
Four things worth confirming before treating the dress as anything other than unfinished.
- Check every side of the dress, not only the one you were working on.
- Look for one more join that has not been closed.
- Make sure this is a sewing problem and not a piece that was never placed.
- Check the current controls if you cannot reach another side at all.
This page does not list restarts, recuts or save reloads. None of them is supported by anything the build records, and suggesting one for a seam that simply has not been sewn would cost a player a dress for no reason. If every join is closed and the stage still will not complete, the controls page and the patch notes are where that answer will appear first.

Finishing every join is what completes the garment. How well each one was sewn is a separate question — and the game scores it.
That score is Sewing Accuracy, one of the inputs the game weighs into the finished dress's Quality. The scan above is about getting the dress finished at all; the sewing guide is about what the finished dress is worth.
Nothing on this page changes a Quality score, and nothing in the scan is a scoring technique. They are two different reasons to be careful at the needle.
