- What are the controls in Dressmaker?
- Dressmaker is built around mouse-style interaction, and what the mouse does changes from scene to scene: dragging places and moves, clicking selects and confirms, and holding is used for some camera and trim actions. There is no single shortcut list worth memorising, which is why this page is organised by the scene you are in.
- How do I sew?
- Press space. That is what the game's own tutorial instructs once a piece is lined up against its neighbour.
- How do I rotate while sewing?
- Drag the mouse left and right. The tutorial says the same thing, and it is also the answer to being unable to reach a seam on the far side of the garment.
- How do I change thread colour?
- Click a thread spool in the sewing scene. Build 410 added this; it was not possible in earlier builds.
- Why can't I zoom?
- Because this is the interaction the current build is worst at explaining, not because you have missed a key. The camera hint is shown while the camera rotates the dress instead, and players report the same thing on desktop and on the Steam Deck. It has its own page rather than a line here.
- How do I rotate the mannequin?
- We are not printing a method for this yet. Players who asked have been given several different answers, and some reported that the suggestion did not work for them — so the honest state is unresolved, and it has its own page where the answer will go once it is checked against the current build.
- Can I change keybinds?
- Unknown, and this page will not guess. The extracted game data contains the labels shown next to actions but no keybinding table and no rebinding screen, and neither public patch note mentions remapping. That is consistent with controls not being remappable, but it is not proof, and one check in-game would settle it.
- Does Dressmaker support controllers?
- Not properly, yet. Steam marks the game Playable on Steam Deck rather than Verified, the store's controller block declares no full or partial controller support, and the developers have said that proper controller support is still something they are working towards. In the meantime the game is played through mouse-style input, on the Deck's trackpad as much as on a desktop.
