    40 patterns are there from the first day of the save, ready to cut with no requirement at all.

  • Relationship unlock

    117 patterns arrive with a customer's relationship level, from level 2 up to level 5. Open a pattern to see who hands it over.

  • Unlock source not documented

    The game data documents no acquisition route for 21 patterns. They are listed with their real parts, panels and style contributions, and their unlock state says so rather than guessing one.

Official scale vs this database

The developer describes the full game as containing more than 150 dress pieces. This database uses the game's own extracted entity structure, where 178 patterns, 236 variants and 1,871 panels are counted as separate things, so the two numbers are not the same measurement and should not be treated as equivalent.

Patterns in Dressmaker

A dress is built from four kinds of pattern — a bodice, a skirt, a pair of sleeves and a collar — and the one you pick decides the shape of the piece rather than its colour or cloth. This page is the whole set, filtered by the four things that actually change a decision: which part it cuts, which styles it helps, how much cloth the base variant needs, and whether it is within reach yet.

Style contributions are the game's own additive weights, and they can be negative: a pattern that fights a style carries it at a minus. A card shows the two strongest contributions in either direction, which is why a Gothic bodice does not read like a plain formal one. Fabric use is grouped into Low, Medium and High, cut at the thirds of the real distribution across all 178 patterns. The band is the answer to the question a player is asking; the exact estimate is what the fabric calculator is for, and here it only decides the order of a sort.

Construction is the other half of the choice. Panel count and whether the base variant cuts any panel on the bias both change how a piece hangs, and both are stated as facts of the pattern rather than as a judgement about it — a six-panel skirt is not worse than a two-panel one, it is different work.

  • How many patterns are in Dressmaker?

  • How do I find a pattern for one part of a dress?

    Use the garment tabs above the grid — Bodice, Skirt, Sleeve and Collar — or tick a part in the filters. The number on each tab is the size of that shelf, so the tab is also a statement about how much there is to look through.

  • What do the style numbers on a pattern mean?

    They are the weights the game adds to a dress for using that pattern. A positive number raises the dress's score for that style and a negative one lowers it. Two strong contributions are the fastest way to lift two styles at once, and fabric that leans the same way does the rest.

  • Which patterns use the least fabric?

    Sort by fabric use, or filter to Low. The band is cut at the thirds of the distribution across all 178 patterns, so Low is a third of the catalogue rather than a fixed number of cloth units — a sleeve is not compared against a ball skirt in the same breath.

  • Can I filter patterns by unlock status?

    Yes. Available from the start, Relationship unlock and Unlock source not documented are the three states the game data can prove, and each shows how many patterns sit behind it. How far along a particular relationship is stays a question for that character's page.
