About the Character Database
Dressmaker is built around its characters. Each one arrives with a line of commissions, and the line is the spine of their story: the briefs come in the game’s own order, and delivering them is what moves the relationship forward.
That makes the roster a better starting point than any single commission. A character card carries the size of the order, how far the relationship runs and how many patterns the ladder hands over, so you can pick a line by what it is worth rather than by a name you half remember.
The relationship is not a counter. A commission judged excellent can move it further than one that merely passes, so this page documents the game’s levels instead of printing a number for a save file it has never seen.
Many of Dressmaker’s named characters are recurring clients who come back with new commissions as the story progresses. This catalog uses Characters as its main term while the commission pages focus on the jobs they bring: clients, customers and characters are the same people here, not three different lists.
One character record in this build carries no commission line and no page of its own, so it is not published: the roster holds the 10 named clients the site can actually show.

Yes. Every character has a relationship ladder, and crossing a level hands over named patterns spanning bodice, skirt, sleeve and collar. A character’s own page lists what each level gives.
How do relationships increase?
By delivering that character’s commissions. How far a delivery moves the relationship is settled by the game, which is why this page shows the ladder and the work you have marked done rather than computing a level for you.
Does an Excellent commission result matter?
It can. A commission that is judged excellent can raise a relationship further than one that merely succeeds, which is why two players with the same number of finished briefs can sit at different levels.
Where can I see all of a character's commissions?
Each character’s commissions stay in the game’s own order. The roster groups them by character, and the commissions board can filter the same briefs by character when you want to read a whole line at once.
